Here's a pic.
I actually booked on over 8 miles to a quilt show that I was expecting, but it's actually next weekend. So then I thought I'd give a wander off the beaten path and turned out I found a way to a restaurant I like that I didn't know was a way. Relaxing lunch there at 10 miles.
Wanted to stay on unknown paths and so asked a guy the way to a particular one. He pointed a direction that was opposite where I wanted to go. "Oh, I guess I'll just go this other way."
He asked me where I was trying to go, and then thing is I wasn't trying to go anywhere. But I had just asked for a specific direction, so I don't think I could say that. So I named a waypoint, adding "eventually", so it wasn't a total lie.
He was beside himself, old North Carolina Scots-Irish dancing a little gig there with his cigarette in his mouth. "You want to go THERE?" "Eventually?!!" "That's three miles away!!!" "You can't walk there!!!!"
"Um, thanks for the advice," I mumbled. Walked on the path I knew, which was boring though walking it the opposite direction from usual a little less so. Maybe I can see a quilt show next week.
